CHRIS Rigg’s cheeky back-heel proved decisive in a north-east derby – and now it’s won him the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for September.
As the angle tightened, the 17-year-old Sunderland midfielder chopped a back-heel over the line against rivals Middlesbrough for the only goal of the game.
“I’m delighted to receive the award, but the main thing is that it was the winning goal in such a big game,” he said.
