THE EFL Trophy has come in for plenty of stick in recent years and it doesn’t tend to be a favourite of supporters up and down the land.
The introduction of topflight Under-21 sides was a controversial move and some fans felt that it could be a springboard for lower league clubs to become feeder teams of those higher up the food chain.
