I WAS thinking recently about the things in football that I’d put in Room 101.
One of the first would be the prematch exercise of manager and captain visiting the referee’s room. I can scarcely remember a time where I felt that there was any added value in the few brief words spoken by the official normally in a cramped room filled with prematch tension.

    LEAGUE TWO CHESTERFIELD have announced ‘with deep regret’ that majority co-owner Phil Kirk has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
