SCOTT Parker says new signing John Egan will bring character and confidence to Burnley’s back four.
Egan, capped 36 times by the Republic of Ireland, won two Championship promotions with Sheffield United and played over 70 times in the Premier League for the Blades.
But the 31-year-old centre-back missed the majority of last season with an achilles injury and was released in July following the expiry of his contract. A lengthy trial with West Ham subsequently proved fruitless and Egan joined the Clarets on Tuesday.
