IT’S been reported that Birmingham’s spending has topped £25m this summer with their purchase of Fulham’s Jay Stansfield for £10m.
In the same division, the likes of Burton Albion, Stevenage and Crawley bring in crowds of 2,000-plus. The disparity is enormous.
Such is the splendour of League One. It is chastening for top clubs that get it wrong. And it is enormously rewarding for smaller clubs that get it right.
