ALEX Neil has emerged as the surprise favourite for the vacant Charlton job – closely followed by former Luton boss Nathan Jones.
The League One Addicks are searching for their sixth manager in three years after sacking Michael Appleton following their midweek defeat to Northampton.
Neil, 42, led Norwich to the Premier League in 2015 and then spent four years in charge of Preston before becoming Sunderland manager in early 2022.
