THE nerve-jangling Championship promotion race took another major twist as Burnley overcame Coventy to jump to the top of the table.

Two goals from Jaidon Anthony led the Clarets to a 2-1success at Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues. It enabled them to leapfrog Sheffield United – who fell to a surprise 1-0defeat at lowly Oxford – and Leeds, who drew 1-1at Luton.

Burnley boss Scott Parker hailed his side after they made it 27 games unbeaten.

“I’m immensely proud,” he said. “This is a tough place to come, we knew that coming into the game.”
