LINCOLN City midfielder JJ McKiernan admits he was bemused when he received an out-of-the-blue text from Chesham United co-manager James Duncan a few weeks ago.
When the 22-year-old was a scholar at Watford, it so happens that Duncan was his head of education.
Their paths hadn’t crossed since McKiernan left in the summer of 2023, with the midfielder moving on to, first, Morecambe and then the Imps.
