Burton Albion are on a poor run ahead of hosting Reading at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday, with just four points collected from their last six games.

The Brewers have picked up one win and one draw in their last six League One games, and face a Royals side whose last six games have brought three wins and two draws.

With 36 goals in 44 games so far this season, Burton are the league’s second-lowest scorers with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 62 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Reading, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.4 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have conceded 1.5 goals per game.

Albion are 20th in the table after 44 games, of which they have won 11 and drawn 10, earning 43 points.

The Royals are four places ahead of the Brewers in 16th, with 15 wins and 11 draws putting them on 56 points.

Burton’s last match was on Tuesday, a 2-1 loss against Cheltenham Town, with Steve Seddon getting the goal for the Brewers.

Reading drew 2-2 with Barnsley last time out, on April 13, with Lewis Wing and Sam Smith on the scoresheet.

Saturday’s match will be refereed by Scott Oldham, who has taken charge of 17 League One games so far this season, issuing five red cards and booking 44 players. He has awarded one penalty.

The last Burton game Oldham refereed was a 2-0 home loss to Portsmouth on November 28. His last Reading match was their 1-1 draw away at Oxford United on February 3.
