Wycombe Wanderers travel to Port Vale on late Tuesday in League One.

The visitors come into the game on the back of a win in their last match, having beaten Shrewsbury Town 2-0 away, with goals from Luke Leahy and Richard Kone.

The Valiants, meanwhile, lost their last match, 4-2 against Exeter City, with their goals scored by Ethan Chislett and Baylee Dipepa.

Vale are 21st in the table after 43 games, of which they have won 10 and drawn 10, earning 40 points.

Wycombe are six places ahead of the Valiants in 15th, with 14 wins and 13 draws putting them on 55 points.

With 40 goals in 43 games so far this season, the hosts are scoring at below the league average rate with 0.9 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 70 goals at a rate of 1.6 per game.

Wanderers, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game. They have conceded 1.2 goals per game.

Vale are in mixed form in League One, with two wins and a draw from their last six games.

With three wins and two draws over that period, the Chairboys’ form is better – they have taken 11 points from 18, compared to Vale’s seven.

In the last three years, Vale and Wycombe have played each other on three occasions. Wycombe won one of them and they drew the other.

Their last meeting was on December 23, when they played out a 1-1 draw.

Tuesday’s match will be refereed by John Busby, who has taken charge of three League One games so far this season, issuing no red cards and booking 13 players. He has awarded one penalty.

He is yet to oversee a match featuring either Vale or Wycombe this season.
