Match Preview: Wrexham v Accrington Stanley (Saturday, 3pm)

Wrexham host Accrington Stanley on Saturday at the Racecourse Ground in League Two.

In their last league match, on Tuesday, Wrexham drew with Forest Green Rovers 1-1 away, with their goal scored by Paul Philip Mullin.

Accrington lost, 2-1 away at Walsall, with Jack Nolan scoring their goals.

With 60 goals in 34 games so far this season, Wrexham are scoring more than average in the league with 1.8 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 45 goals at a rate of 1.3 per game.

Accrington, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.4 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.

The Dragons are fourth in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 17 and drawn nine, earning 60 points.

Stanley are 11 places behind the home side in 15th, with 13 wins and seven draws putting them on 46 points.

Wrexham are in mixed form in League Two, with two wins and two draws from their last six games.

With a win and two draws over that period, the visitors’ form is worse – they have taken five points from 18, compared to Wrexham’s eight.

In Elliott Lee, the Dragons have one of the league’s most on-form strikers so far this season. He has notched 14 goals in 34 appearances, to sit ninth in the scoring charts.

His goal rate of one every 206 minutes is slightly quicker than that of Nolan, Accrington’s top scorer with a goal every 199 minutes, and a total of 12 goals in 33 games.
