Struggling Sutton United face Tranmere Rovers away at Prenton Park on Saturday looking to build on a win in their last league outing.

After securing all three points with a 4-3 victory over Notts County on Tuesday, the Us sit bottom of League Two.

They travel to play a Tranmere side 18th in the standings, who lost in their last match, 3-1 against Swindon Town.

In the last 10 years, Tranmere and Sutton have played each other on nine occasions. They won three each, and they drew three times.

On average, Tranmere scored 1.3 goals and the Us 1.1 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on November 18, when they played out a 1-1 draw.

With 40 goals in 35 games so far this season, Sutton are the league’s third-lowest scorers with 1.1 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 67 goals at a rate of 1.9 per game.

Tranmere, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have also conceded 1.5 goals per game.

Rovers are in bad form in League Two, with one win and a draw from their last six games.

With a win and two draws over that period, United’s form is slightly better – they have taken five points from 18, compared to the home team’s four.
