Vintage Vardy fires the Foxes

Ace Jamie earns Maresca praise

Leicester manager Enzo Maresca hailed the predatory instincts of striker Jamie Vardy after he came off the bench to score both goals in the victory against Watford.

Having slipped to back-to-back defeats before the international break, the Foxes were eager to get back to winning ways.

Vardy – after missing a couple of chances – broke the deadlock on 76 minutes and then converted an injury time penalty after he’d been brought down.

“Jamie’s scored goals all his life, and he will continue to do that,” said Maresca. “It’s in his blood. This is the reason why he’s Jamie Vardy.

“You have to be there to miss a chance and he was there again to score.”
