MACAULAY Langstaff had just set a new National League record of 41 goals in a season when head coach Luke Williams made a confession. After a national newspaper journalist suggested the £50,000 Notts had paid Gateshead the previous summer was the bargain of the century, Williams joked it was starting to look like they’d ripped off the north-east club.
