Centre-back Niall Maher has revealed that Grimsby Town’s record-breaking FA Cup quarter-finalists are now targeting the club’s highest league finish in 17 years.
None of the last nine Mariners squads to contest an EFL season has ended a campaign in a top-half spot. But, ahead of yesterday’s home clash with Mansfield, only goal difference was preventing Paul Hurst’s men from overhauling 12thplaced Swindon in the League Two standings.
