FIVE-STAR OWLS AND SHRIMPS SPARK THIRD TIER GOAL RUSH

IT PROVED to be a New Year goal-fest as 2023 kicked off with a bang in the third tier.
Promotion-chasing Sheffield Wednesday and relegation strugglers Morecambe led the way by dishing out 5-0 hammerings, against Cambridge and Burton respectively.
Wednesday moved second as Josh Windass hit a hat-trick, while Michael Smith helped himself to a brace, one from the spot.
Morecambe moved off the bottom with their stunning victory. Kieran Phillips and sub Caleb Watts both bagged doubles, and Jensen Weir got the other.
