MAX IS HERO AS GRIMSBY TOPPLE CITIZENS

MAX Crocombe proved the hero with two penalty saves as Grimsby Town rounded off the group stages in dramatic fashion by knocking out Manchester City U21s.
Both sides went into Tuesday’s game knowing that victory would see them top Northern Group F and it was the Mariners who stormed into an early lead.
Former City youngster Keyendrah Simmonds rifled home a shot from 20 yards in the third minute, but the visitors levelled through Will Dickson on 17 minutes.
