GLEE: Boro celebrate Chuba Akpom’s opener at Hull

AFTER losing their first games in charge, there was joy for both Michael Carrick and Carlos Corberan.
Carrick’s Middlesbrough ran out 3-1 victors at Hull with the help of two own-goals. Chuba Akpom gave Boro the lead on 30 minutes but Cyrus Christie levelled on the hour.
Then it was own goals from Tobias Figueiredo (63 minutes) and Christie (80) that made the difference.
Rookie boss Carrick told BBC Tees: “I thought we played some really good football at times.”
