U’S CHIEF SHAMED BY ‘MINDLESS THUGS’

COLCHESTER United chairman Robbie Cowling has hit out at the actions of “mindless thugs” after crowd trouble marred their Carabao Cup victory at Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
Moments after securing their first win at Portman Road since 1951, a handful of U’s supporters destroyed some of the seating in the away end before throwing the broken parts into an area below, occupied by their own supporters, causing a number of injuries.
