CHAIRMAN Mark Palios believes James Vaughan “has a clear understanding of what makes a Tranmere player” after appointing him the club’s sporting director at 33.
The former striker only retired from playing at the end of last season, but has been involved in recruitment at Rovers.
Palios said: “James has recently worked alongside Steve Beck, who will continue to advise regarding the recruitment process.
