Clubs must do their all to play on
THE issue of clubs calling off matches because of the impact of Covid – and injuries - on their players has become something of a hot potato over the last week.
It was AFC Wimbledon who really brought the matter into the spotlight with a letter to the EFL just over a week ago, and they added to it with a statement on their website on Boxing Day having been frustrated at seeing home games against Portsmouth and Charlton postponed.
The Dons said they were calling on the ‘EFL to stamp down on clubs cancelling games due to Covid-19’.
