DOWNING IMPROVES PILGRIMS

STEVEN Schumacher is confident new first-team coach Keith Downing will help him “improve” in his first managerial role at Plymouth.
Schumacher, 37, moved up to replace Ryan Lowe following his departure for Preston, and Downing has now been brought in to add experience to his backroom staff.
“He is hugely experienced and his knowledge and reputation in the game is first class,” said Schumacher.
“I am looking forward to working alongside him, and I know he will help me to improve as a coach.”
