I worked with Exeter’s Matt Jay for a fair few thousand hours back when he was an U16. I had the fortune to work with a group at Exeter for several years that contained some very good players, this when I was still playing.
There were cold nights on a sandy Astroturf and bumpy minibus journeys on a Sunday all over the country. They weren’t for the faint-hearted.
