Wilder, Flynn in frame for job
MICK McCarthy’s Cardiff reign came to an ignominious end as he was axed in the aftermath of a club record eighth straight defeat to Middlesbrough.
Shortly after ex-Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock’s Boro had won 2-0, McCarthy was heading for the exit door. Former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder and ex-Newport County boss Michael Flynn have been linked with the post and are both available.
Cardiff said the departure of McCarthy and assistant Terry Connor was ‘by mutual agreement and with immediate effect’.
