WIGAN’S head of academy Gregor Rioch believes James Carragher “is only going to get better” after seeing great promise in the 18-yearold.
Carragher, who is the son of former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher, has featured for the Latics during pre-season after captaining the under-18s last season.
Rioch said: “It’s a well-earned contract for James.
“He is only going to get better, and we are delighted to have him continue his journey with us.”
