Relegation, exits and hopeful transfers

Sheffield Wednesday have a stressful wait ahead of them as it appears relegation looms ever closer. However, not everyone is feeling too disappointed at the moment as several offers are on the table as an escape route for Osaze Urhoghide.

Already initiating their interest in the 20-year-old player, Club Brugge and Sporting Lisbon have offered pre-contract offers as they have the option to get in before other domestic teams are allowed to.

Other teams also showing an interest in signing Urhoghide for the 2020/2021 season include Leeds United, Crystal Palace, and Watford. However, all teams spiking an interest will have to wait, as Urhoghide intends to wait on the fate of his time at Sheffield Wednesday first.

Watford prepared a substantial bid for Newcastle Star

Popping up in this week’s news again with their interest in Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday, Watford are also reportedly putting together a substantial £6 million bid for Newcastle goalie Karl Darlow.

Apparently seeking to replace their 38-year-old goalkeeper Ben Foster, Watford are keen to sign up Darlow at a time where he may actually consider leaving the club.

Previously stepping up to the mark to replace Dubravka during the Premier League, the Newcastle goalie is now ‘frustrated’ to once again miss out on the 11 man starting line up because Dubravka is back on the scene. It’s this frustration which could see Darlow back on a starting lineup soon.

Super League controversy continues

Making big news this week with the official announcement of the new Super League, discontent is in the air as Charlie Austin called to void the Carabao Cup final between Tottenham and Manchester City.

Widespread anger aired across all media channels and social media regarding the new football league, which is seen largely and purely as a money grabbing scheme by those who are being ‘greedy’, and something that will ruin the current Champions League status.

Although this response is not unanimous across the field, two of the 12 founding teams for the new league are Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Other teams included in the new Football League include Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. Besides, the English-based football teams are also now founding members for the new Super League three from Spain and another three from Italy.

Champions League Football

Although the Super League is causing some worry about what will happen to the Champions League, the tournament is still in full swing. Champions League predictions are out there for the remaining 4 teams with Manchester City as the clear favourites, while City’s loss to Chelseas has slightly reduced the odds with a Chelsea Vs Man City final being a decent bet to take. Markets include ‘All English Final’, ‘City to beat PSG’, and ‘Chelsea to beat Real Madrid’. Three great bets with ever-changing odds. Real Madrid and PSG do not seem to be in the running!

In other football, there is the chance to get odds on Championship teams such as Blackburn, who are now way outside the running to make it into the Playoffs but with decent odds and of course there is the run in to the end of the season when the relegation battles at the bottom of the table heats up as players play for Championship survival.

Luke Nock on trial

Featuring as part of the 11 man starting line up during the latest under 18s Derby, 18-year-old player Luke Nock is currently on trial as a midfielder for Blackburn Rovers.

Coming towards the end of a two-year contract with League One, there has been no indication that

Nock’s current team intends to extend his contract. Leaving the gateway open for Blackburn Rovers

To look him over, he is a name which won’t be all that familiar to fans of the club, but he holds strong promise for a player his age.
