SOMETHING I’ve thought about lately is why we’ve seen such a high number of away wins in football without fans.
We often talk about ‘home advantage’ without necessarily thinking about what that actually is.
Without fans, there is the obvious missing dimension of family not being present to support players, fans not being there to charge up and applaud players and that all-important dynamic of the referee’s decision-making under pressure!
