WIGAN’s future remains up in the air after the EFL blocked a takeover because the would-be new owners ‘failed to satisfy the League’s requirements’.
The Latics had been set for a safe finish in the Championship last season before owners Next Leader Fund, who had only taken over the club in May, suddenly placed them into administration, They were subsequently deducted 12 points by the EFL and went on to suffer relegation to League One.
