NEIL’S IN SHOCK OVER BAUER’S INJURY

PRESTON defender Patrick Bauer is unlikely to play again this season after damaging his Achilles tendon in the midweek win at Bournemouth.
The 28-year-old German centre-back sustained the injury stretching to make a challenge in the closing moments of the 3-2 victory.
Bauer had scored what turned out to be the winning goal for the Lilywhites, and boss Alex Neil said: “We pretty much knew what it was (after the game), but he’s had a scan now and he’s done his Achilles which is naturally a long road back for any player.
