KAL Naismith says cash-strapped Wigan’s current plight has offered the club’s academy players an opportunity to make their mark – even if they have been thrown into the first team sooner than expected.
Naismith, 28, partnered academy graduate Kyle Joseph in attack in the midweek defeat to Lincoln, and he said: “It’s a great chance for these young lads. Maybe some of them aren’t ready, but they give it everything they can and they will be better players for it.
