MIDDLESBROUGH manager Neil Warnock believes Jonny Howson is the best midfielder in the Championship.
Howson, 32, has signed a contract extension at the Riverside until the end of the 2021-22 season.
Warnock said: “I’m just delighted. It’s another step in the right direction for the club. Jonny has had an outstanding time since I’ve been here.
“I’d go as far as to say that I rate him as the best midfield player in the league at the moment, which I might not have thought before I came to the club.
