Five subs is better late than never

WHETHER there should be five substitutes allowed this season has been a topic of much debate in recent weeks.
Top-flight managers like Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola have expressed their belief that five replacements should be allowed, as they were when last season resumed.
They fear a glut of injuries will be the end result if players are forced to keep playing at a time when the fixture schedule has never been so condensed.
