THE decision to ram all three domestic cup competitions into an already creaking calendar looks ever more foolhardy by the day.
Accrington Stanley this week became the latest team to postpone a fixture due to covid after eight players and one member of staff tested positive for the virus.
They will not be the last. However cautious clubs are, it is wishful thinking to imagine the nationwide spike in cases will not be reflected in the dressing room.
Players throughout the EFL have children at school, partners who work and vulnerable relatives who cannot be left in isolation.
