JAMIE Devitt’s friendship with former Newport defender Mark O’Brien was a key factor in his decision to join the club.
The 30-year-old midfielder joined the Exiles on loan from Blackpool until January on deadline day. Devitt grew up on the same street as O’Brien in Ballyfermot, Dublin, and has stayed in touch.
