THE capture of Jack Marriott on a season-long loan deal from Derby County is a crafty bit of business by Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls desperately needed a striker, but with money tight and a 12-point deduction to contend with, attracting proven class was always going to be impossible.
Marriott is the next best thing. Forget the modest return of 17 goals in 86 games since his £2.5m move from Peterborough in 2018.
