FLP FOCUS ON THE FINANCIAL CRISIS AFFECTING EFL CLUBS

BEN: DON’T LET CLUBS FALL BY WAYSIDE
UNITY and a desire for long-term change may be the primary reason the EFL rejected a £50m bailout for Leagues One and Two, but there was also anger at some of the conditions imposed by the Premier League.
It’s understood that one such demand was that if a spike in covid cases terminated the season before 75 per cent of games had been completed, the EFL had to agree that there would be no promotion or relegation.
It is also believed that the Premier League wanted more control over the fixture list, especially regarding cup-ties.
