IF Paul Scholes had been hoping to have an immediate impact on Salford City, he would be hugely disappointed.
Though it was not the most fluent performance they will ever produce, Salford had a small number of opportunities to extend their unbeaten run but failed to fire in front of goal, despite the obvious class they have up front.
There was clearly a greater attacking intent from Salford after the break, but the loss of Darron Gibson’s experi- ence in midfield will be a bitter blow to add to the defeat.
