PENALTY?! The ref thinks not, and play continues.
Two minutes later a goal is scored.
But VAR has other ideas as the penalty was in fact a penalty and the goal is chalked off.
The penalty is given and scored. But hold on! Thirty seconds prior to the original penalty incident there was a push, unseen by the ref, but a clear and obvious push belatedly spotted by VAR. The penalty should not have been given and is therefore retracted. A free-kick is given… Please let’s go back to the good old days of referees and linesmen just doing the best they can and getting most things right. ...
