GARETH AINSWORTH has paid tribute to the leadership of Darius Charles after the centre- back penned a new 18-month contract with the Chairboys.
After overcoming a chronic hip injury, with experts advising him to hang up his boots in the summer, the 32-year-old has become a vital part of Ainsworth’s back four, carrying them to the top of League One prior to the weekend’s action.
And Ainsworth believes that locking Charles down at Adams Park until 2021 could well prove more significant than any piece of business he does in January.
