NEW Southend United boss Sol Campbell was encouraged by the Shrimpers’ performance in their defeat to Ipswich Town.
Campbell, who guided Macclesfield away from danger in League Two last season, took over at the League One strugglers earlier in the week.
And, despite starting his reign with a defeat at Roots Hall, Campbell was boosted by aspects of the display.
