He’s been under tremendous pressure, which is something all of us have had to deal with at some point.
As a manager, you have to be thickskinned. You have to take the criticism and not let it affect you - at least to the extent you can.
Having a good staff, people you can trust and rely on, is vital. So is keeping off social media and not getting involved. That really is key.
