MATTOCK’S PRIDE AT CAPTAINCY

LEAGUE ONE JOE Mattock is fulfilling a childhood dream in captaining a team having taken the armband at Rotherham.
The 29-year-old leftback has been given the honour in the absence of club skipper Richard Wood and summer departure of Will Vaulks.
“It’s always been a dream for me that I wanted to lead a team out and I’ve got that opportunity now,” said Mattock.
He recently returned after injury, and added: “It’s nice to come back into the side and make a bit of an impact.
