LEADBITTER ‘PROUD’ TO BE CAPTAIN

GRANT Leadbitter has spoken of his pride at being given the captaincy at Sunderland.
The 33-year-old midfielder, a boyhood Black Cats fan, was handed the armband following George Honeyman’s departure to Hull.
“It’s an incredibly proud moment for me to captain this club,” said Leadbitter. “It’s special, but I want to be a successful captain.
“You’ve got to have a winning mentality. It’s no good just having it on a matchday.
