JOEY Barton will not rush Ched Evans back into action.
The 30-year-old has yet to feature for Fleetwood Town since making a permanent switch from Sheffield United this summer.
Evans is lacking match fitness, and boss Barton said: “Ched needs a period of time to train.
“With his situation he lost a body of work and needs to catch up. We know he is a leader and that is why we have brought him back.
“When you have him and Madden up top, other teams know there are goals. There is an opportunity for Ched to set a benchmark.”
