Ben Burgess – the former Hull and Blackpool striker talks us through his football memories

First match?
It was Manchester City against Bournemouth at Maine Road (in 1989) with my dad and my two older sisters.
We were winning 3-1 and ended up drawing 3-3 and I remember my dad saying to me: “You’d better get used to this son – this is typical City.”
In those days, there was only the odd game on TV, so you didn’t see as much football. I remember the excitement of walking to the stadium and the amount of people and noise – it was great.
