SHREWS HAVE THE ABILITY TO STAY UP

I WAS at Montgomery Waters Meadow, the home of Shrewsbury Town, for their game against Portsmouth last week and expected a frosty reception for manager Sam Ricketts after recent results.
The Shrews had lost a couple of games before two late goals earned them victory against Wycombe two weeks ago.
I had heard the crowd wanted Ricketts out and had voiced their displeasure towards the end of the Wycombe game. However, the atmosphere against Portsmouth was great, no doubt helped by Pompey’s superb away support and the safe standing in the home end which was great to see up close.
