No Ray of hope for Artell after Alex defeat

DAVE ARTELL was left exasperated by Crewe skipper George Ray whose reckless lunge proved to be the turning point at Gresty Road.
Ray’s foul on Jordan Tillson earned him a second booking with the game poised at 1-1, with Aaron Taylor- Sinclair’s opener for Alex cancelled out by Kevin Dawson – and it left Artell lamenting his decision to reinstate the centre-half to his back four.
Former Crewe players Billy Waters and Luke Varney came back to haunt the Railwaymen as the Robins ended a run of six defeats on the road.
