SCOTTISH STRIKER FLETCHER EXPLAINS ABSENCE

IN-FORM Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher revealed it was with “a very heavy heart” that he was forced to pull out of Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualifying double- header against Kazakhstan and San Marino.
In the absence of Fletcher, 32, Scotland made an inauspicious start to their Group I campaign, abjectly losing 3-0 in Kazakhstan, before labouring to a 2-0 win in San Marino.
