DERBY County manager Frank Lampard is keen to sign his former Chelsea and England team-mate Ashley Cole.
The 38-year-old ex-Arsenal left-back is a free agent after being released by Los Angeles Galaxy in November.
Rookie Rams boss Lampard believes Cole could provide valuable defensive cover as they go for promotion. Talks have taken place and Cole could sign a short-term deal until the end of the season.
“He’s a great pro and a great lad,” said Lampard. “We’re looking at it. I speak to Ash all the time. We’re good friends.
