MACCLESFIELD recovered from an abysmal start to see off in-form Oldham and claim a vital win.
The Latics had been handed the perfect start, awarded a penalty 10 seconds in after Callum Lang’s shot was blocked by Miles Welch-Hayes’ hand, Urko Vera converting from the spot.
From that point on, though, the lowly Silkmen were in the ascendancy, and after his first loss as caretaker manager, Pete Wild was unequivocal in his criticism.
